After enough startup builds, Tony and Benj noticed the same pattern everywhere: people overcomplicate the thing before anyone even knows if the thing matters. So the rule became simple: find the fastest smart path, ship something that works, and only add complexity when the results justify it. Somewhere along the way, “ugly but works” became the phrase that kept everyone honest.
